About the kit:
These kits contain 3 colors of Plush Fingering (100% superwash merino wool, 560 yds/512 m, 4 oz/113 g) in the following amounts: XS/S (M, L, XL) 2XL, 3XL, 4/5XL

Color A: 1 (2, 2, 2) 2, 2, 2 skeins
Color B: 2 (2, 2, 2) 3, 3, 3 skeins
Color C: 2 (2, 2, 2) 3, 3, 3 skein

The colors are assigned from left to right (e.g. in the first option, the gray yarn is Color A and the darker blue is Color C) - if you would like the same colors in another order, please make a note during checkout and we will adjust the numbers of each color accordingly. (This is not the yarn used in the sample shown, but is the same yds/g and will knit to the same gauge).

(If you'd like another color combination, please check out all of our available colors in Plush Fingering)

This kit includes the yarn to make the pattern, but does not include the pattern itself - the pattern is available on Ravelry here. Ravelry ensures you will always have access to your pattern even if your copy is lost, and you will automatically receive any pattern updates in your email!

About the Pattern:

The question: What if a shawl were actually practical to wear all day, and stylish too?

The answer: It would be a Shweater!

Shweater is a quick knit constructed just like a basic shawl - with one unique twist that changes everything. It’s worked back and forth in rows using only k, p, and kfb, so it’s suitable even for relatively new knitters. With simple raglan-style shaping and sleeves it wears just like a sweater, but the shawl-inspired construction makes it almost magically easy to get a perfect fit from a completely flat fabric. What makes the Shweater truly special is the technique used to create the sleeves - it’s deceptively simple, especially with the help of a video tutorial included with the pattern.

The best part is wearing it, though - it’s the kind of sweater your friends will want to steal and you’ll want to wear all day!

The pattern includes detailed written instructions for sizes XS-4/5XL, plus instructions for how to further customize the fit for a variety of heights, sizes, and desired fits. There are instructions for knitting it using Gradients or solid colors in DK weight, and additional instructions for knitting a marled fade version with 2 strands of fingering weight (as in the gray/blue Earth Mama sample).

About the yarn:

100% superwash merino wool

560 yds (512 m) / 4 oz (113 g)

An anything-but-basic merino, Plush is suitable for a huge range of projects.  Super soft, smooshy and warm, this yarn gives beautiful saturated colors and feels lovely on the skin.  The 2-ply structure also makes it an excellent choice for lace projects.
